Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers say they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.
Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.
A senior political figure commented the incident left him speechless and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
